Notice & takedown under 17 U.S.C. §512
StarFarm respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects our artists to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). This policy explains how to report infringing material, how an artist can respond, and what happens to accounts that repeatedly infringe.
Reporting infringement
If you believe material on StarFarm infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to act for, you may submit a takedown notice. The fastest way is our copyright report form. You may also send a written notice to our designated agent at the address below.
To be valid, your notice must include all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — ideally the link (URL) to the song, video, album, or artist page on StarFarm.
- Your contact information: full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Note that under Section 512(f), you may be liable for damages if you knowingly and materially misrepresent that material is infringing.
Designated agent
Notices may be sent to StarFarm's designated copyright agent:

Please use the report form where possible — it captures everything a valid notice needs and reaches our moderation team fastest.
What happens after a valid notice
When we receive a valid notice, we disable access to the reported material and notify the artist who uploaded it. Their earnings from that material stop going forward. We keep a record of every notice we receive.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice. A valid counter-notice must include your contact information, identification of the material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district, and your signature. If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action.
Repeat infringers
StarFarm will, in appropriate circumstances, disable and terminate the accounts of artists who are repeat infringers. Repeated valid takedown notices against the same account may result in suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
A note on our public play records
StarFarm records certain play events to a public blockchain for transparency. Those records describe that a play happened — they do not contain the music itself. When we take material down, we disable playback and stop payouts going forward; we cannot and do not rewrite historical play records that were already published.
